Snow and Ice

I can't believe I moved! After living 24 years in beautiful Great Falls, I've definitely grown attached to everything about that fantastic Montana city. Nonetheless, I have relocated to another town under the Big Sky. And because I've never moved away from home, I didn't know how to do it. But I guess John and I have done a pretty good job at the whole relocating thing. We're sitting 5,549 feet above sea level in Butte, MT where almost everything we own is unpacked in our three bedroom apartment. And so far this town is proving a worthy and interesting place to call home for a while. Just looking up the history on the city before we came gave me a weeks worth of tantalizing reading. "A mile high, a mile deep, and everyone's on the level." (I didn't make that up, it's actually the motto on their website). Just in case you didn't know, the whole reason we are in Butte is for John to go to school here. So as he starts classes to become even more of a computer geek, I will become even more of an adventuress as I get a new job, maybe meet people, and learn more about Butte. One cool discovery; the snow doesn't melt here after 2 or 3 days. It pretty much stays the whole winter. So just like this ice-skating pond John and I found right out our back door, we should be able to find sledding hills galore!

ooh, how fun! A skating rink. I'm coming for a visit...just too bad it will be when the snow has melted. Hope you are doing good, and can't wait to hear more about your fun new home
